Driving Directions
From the Washington, DC Area
- Take interstate route 270 Northwest toward Frederick.
- Where interstate route 270 meets interstate route70, take 70 Northwest
toward Hagerstown, Hancock, and Cumberland,
- Near Hancock, take interstate route 68 West toward Cumberland,
- Warning—there is an intrastate highway marked route 68 before
you come to the interstate route 68. DO NOT TAKE THIS HIGHWAY. Remember,
interstate route 68 is near Hancock.
- Continue on interstate route 68 through Cumberland and Frostburg,
- Exit off interstate route 68 onto route 219 South - exit 14A. There
is a sign that directs you to Deep Creek Lake State Park near this
exit.
- Continue on route 219 past McHenry and over the Deep Creek Bridge.
- About 2 miles past the bridge you will see a sign for “SWALLOW
FALLS STATE PARK”. This sign will direct you to Mayhew Inn Road.
- Turn right onto Mayhew Inn Road.
- While on Mayhew Inn Road you will pass an old stone barn (on the
right) and then pass the intersection with Lake Shore Drive. After
about 2
or so miles from route 219 you will come to a sign for the entrance
to RED RUN LODGE. The sign is on the left, the entrance is on the right.
- Good Timber Bed & Breakfast is off the very next driveway to the
right at 2159 Mayhew Inn Road.
From the Baltimore, Maryland Area
- From the Baltimore, Maryland Area:
- Take interstate route 695 North.
- Take interstate route 70 West toward Frederick.
- Near Hancock, take interstate route 68 West toward Cumberland,
- Warning—there is an intrastate highway marked route 68 before

- Take interstate route 79 South toward Morgantown, WV.
- Take the interstate route 68 East – exit number 148 – toward
Cumberland, MD.
- Take Maryland intrastate highway 42 – exit number 4 – there
is a sign directing you toward Deep Creek Lake Area. Keep right at
the fork in the ramp. Stay straight to go onto Maryland intrastate
highway 42.
- Turn onto route 219.
- Continue on route 219 past McHenry and over the Deep Creek Bridge.
- About 2 miles past the bridge you will see signs for the “RED
RUN CONDOS” and “SWALLOW FALLS STATE PARK”. These
signs will direct you to Mayhew Inn Road.
- Turn right onto Mayhew Inn Road.
- While on Mayhew Inn Road you will pass an old stone barn (on the
right) and then pass the intersection with Lake Shore Drive. After
about 2
or so miles from route 219 you will come to a sign for the entrance
to RED RUN LODGE. The sign is on the left, the entrance is on the right.
- Good Timber Bed & Breakfast is on the very next driveway to the
right at 2159 Mayhew Inn Road. Turn on this driveway.
